Eyes Ahead

I try not to concern myself with endings too much. They come swiftly and inevitably, often not needing one to even be awake for the occasion. But beginnings, real beginnings, are a matter of curiosity and courage, belief and forgiveness, tenacity and hope. They're a matter of design. And they take a certain kind.

  1. I think I'm a little different; endings affect me more than beginnings should. The problem with endings is that they are so definitive, and it takes such courage to face up to the fact that that might be It. The end of a chapter, the end of a life, the end of a relationship. Or simply put, maybe I'm just better at hellos, than goodbyes.

  2. I'm better at hellos too. But I'm trying to get better at starting over, however often it is needed.

  3. They take courage, and more often than not, I'm a chickenshit.
